What's Your Mindset Level Today?
When you get up every morning, what do you tell yourself? Do you say "I can't wait to get started on my work today!" or "This is going to be a long day - I'm already tired".
How many times have we heard the phrase "mindset is everything?" Well, from personal experience I can tell you It's true! Your mindset can affect your success, it can shape how others see you, and it can even impact your physical health, starting with your brain. The reality of this statement has been proven time and time again by experts like Bob Proctor, who is my personal mentor and cofounder of the Proctor Gallagher Institute. Bob teaches people that their mindset is what shapes them into leaders or followers in life.
Bob Proctor found that 5% of a person's success is due to strategy and plans. The remaining 95% is attributed to mindset. This explains why ordinary individuals are frequently able to accomplish remarkable things, while brilliant individuals may struggle to get things done. You could be the sharpest person in the city, but if you have the wrong mindset, nothing will happen.
As you continue reading, will discover five ways to help you optimize your mindset for the better so that it becomes an asset rather than a liability. I will explain the simple steps in a moment so you can share these secrets with family and friends who could benefit from these ideas as well.
But first, we need to define what MINDSET is. Mindset is a set of attitudes, thoughts, and emotions that you have about yourself and your life. It's your personal way of thinking which then is expressed through your opinions and actions. It's the lens through which you see the world. So, at a more fundamental level, our mindset controls how we filter information when we receive it and then it edits this information when it goes out when we communicate. All this is possible because we are creatures of habit. We have a specific way of thinking, feeling, and behaving which becomes our own personal signature.
Second, if we want to change our mindset for the better it is very important to become more mindful of our thoughts and feelings. Especially when having negative or self-defeating thoughts.
The good news is that you are in control if you allow yourself! We are the ONLY species in this world with the ability to THINK so we can choose our thoughts. Most people go through life feeling like they're a victim, instead of realizing that they have the power to choose their thoughts and actions. When something bad happens, we often ask ourselves "why me?" rather than looking for a solution.
Start Thinking About Your Attitude
To become more aware of the kind of attitude we have, we need to start thinking about our habits and the type of experiences we are having in our life which are evident by the results we are creating every single day. Ideas, feelings, and actions are linked in a chain that begins with a thought and leads to feelings, which, in turn, lead to a habit or behavior which then creates our results. You might be thinking by now that It sounds terribly easy to do but it takes time and consistency to not only look but also find those exact thoughts that drive our mindset.

In the book You Were Born Rich, Bob Proctor shared the story of a person called Mr. Chapman who used to be a junk dealer. He made his money by picking up the things that other people had thrown away, putting them in a small junk cart, and then selling them. When you think about him, you would think he was a homeless person. When he passed away, he had no family so the police had to enter the residence to vacate his personal belongings. They discovered one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) in old bills hidden throughout the house in packing boxes, crazy right? Mr. Chapman could have put that money in a bank account to earn interest or spend at least half of it to have a better life or invest it in a venture to create permanent change and more wealth.
Mr. Chapman's habit to stash his money away told the story of a person who had a mindset of lack. Why? Because he did not believe in having an abundant life or in the possibility to use that money for something better. Somehow, the life experiences he had with his family, friends, environment, or at school made him believe that stashing the money away for a future need would give him some sense of security.
Things happen in life, but if we let those experiences determine our mindset we will always be creating a future based on our past life.
In 2012, I wanted to experience real magic and was looking to have a really great year but I had let my midset be influenced by so much negativity for too long that my real magic went away along with the set goals I had dreamed of. This experience pushed me to look for answers to questions like; why is it so hard to change? why can't I take full control of my life?
Switch To A Gratitude Mindset
Gratitude is an instantaneous way to shift your mood. It puts you in tune with the creator of all things, allowing the good in things to flow toward you. Start your day by writing down five things you are grateful for. Include both the big and small things in your life.
When something doesn’t go your way, instead of getting upset, look for the lesson that you can learn from it. Keep a positive attitude, no matter what is happening around you. Let me give you an example. If you're having difficulties in your life that are dominating your thoughts—such as a lack of money, a company issue, or a relationship problem—you will be inclined to focus on the difficulty. And by concentrating on it, you provide power to it. The problem then grows stronger.
But if you can find the lesson to be learned in any situation, you take away some of that power. The problem is still there, but it doesn’t have as much control over your emotions and thoughts. You are now viewing it from a different perspective. You have now changed your mindset.

Switch Your Money Mindset
Do you often have problems with money or paying the bills on time? Or perhaps you're not experiencing financial devastation, but you still worry about money more than you'd like.
Or perhaps your business is not in crisis, but you're nowhere near achieving the company or lifestyle you've always wanted.
Your money mentality is the sum of your attitudes and beliefs about money from your life.

Your family, friends, environment, and your schooling all have an impact on your beliefs. As you go through life, your mindset has influenced your income, expectations, and will continue to influence your financial future.
A scarcity mentality, for example, may indicate that you are concerned or uncomfortable with the notion of having a lot of money. Your subconscious might believe you'll never have enough and don't want to be rich in the first place. On the other hand, a prosperity mindset implies that you are at ease with and anticipate an abundance of money.
Your belief about money has the power to hold you back from achieving your financial goals. Nothing will change for you financially until you change.
Today make a committed decision to feel wealthy and visualize yourself in the possession of money and abundance. While doing this exercise, take your debts, bills, and other expenditures into consideration while calculating how much money you'll need to pay off all of your debt, cover all of your obligations, and live the way you want to.
Then, write on a small piece of paper “I’m so happy and grateful now that…I make $__________ a year, and I’m able to be, do, and enjoy the life I really want.”
Carry this sentence with you at all times and read it several times a day to keep your subconscious mind on target. Because the energy of achieving your ambition will pull you forward, and focusing on a big-money objective motivates you to alter your money attitude.
Unlock Your Limiting Mindset
A person can never "do better" than what they think they can do which means you are only confined by the walls you build yourself. A limiting belief is a mental state, conviction, or belief that you believe to be true that restricts you in some manner. You may be surprised to know that many of your beliefs about yourself, and the world around you, are not only false but also hindering your potential in life.

You may believe that you are not capable of doing something, or that it is too difficult or risky. As a result, you may not even try. You may also believe that you are not good enough, or that people do not like you. These are just a few examples of the many limiting beliefs that we can have about ourselves.
The truth is, our limitations are self-imposed either consciously or unconsciously. When we were conceived, we adopted some genes from each parent. And for this very same reason, we not only look the way they look but also think and feel like them in some ways. Then as we grow up, our parents, teachers, friends, and the experiences we lived formed our current beliefs and with that our mindset.
Now that you are about to embark on a new journey set by a new destination or goal you need to start replacing those limiting beliefs with empowerment and abundance.
A good way to start is by questioning your thoughts. Every day, we think between fifty to sixty thousand thoughts but most of them are not real.
Another way is to change our perspective, Leland Val Van de Wall said, “Our belief system is based upon our evaluation of something, and frequently if we reevaluate a situation, our belief about that situation will change.”
Another way is to use affirmations such as; why I am strong, why I am healthy, why do I always attract wealth, Why I am always happy.

Changing Your Mindset Takes Effort
Most of us are living life by default which already carries a tremendous amount of momentum. To change your mindset and life will require consistent effort. While it may not be completely natural at first, anyone can begin to create success or a growth-oriented mindset and live a meaningful life by taking consistent action.
Changing your mindset is about making a conscious decision to change your life for the better by setting the right intention and signaling the universe of your new resolution.

My mentor and success coach, Bob Proctor, once said "If you’re serious about changing your money mindset, don’t just read these steps; start to practice them. As you do, you will bring more of yourself to the surface. And, over time, you will realize that earning the amount of money you want becomes not merely ‘possible’ or ‘probable’… it becomes practically inevitable."
However, even if you feel strongly committed to changing your mindset, after four to six weeks, you'll discover that you've let the concept slip away and reverted to your old patterns. The reason for this is that our paradigms and old beliefs are very ingrained in our subconscious.
Studies have shown that there's only a 10% probability you'll make a change. However, if you set a deadline for sharing your progress with someone else, you have a 95 percent chance of making that change. This shows how beneficial it is to be accountable to someone. Accountability substantially raises the likelihood that you will keep your promises.
That is why working with a coach or mentor can be so beneficial. They'll hold you to your word and ask tough questions if you don't live up to your own standards.
If you can't work with a coach, I strongly advise you to join a Mastermind Group. This is a collection of people who share similar objectives. Sharing your success and receiving assistance from a Mastermind Group may make the difference between success or failure.
Getting a coach or joining a Mastermind Group may be something out of your comfort zone. However, sometimes it is necessary to make a significant step forward in order for you to advance.
You'd be a millionaire already if you could make it on your own. Getting assistance in shifting your perspective may be the greatest method to improve all aspects of your life.
